Membership of the Legal Defence Union is open to all solicitors practising in Scotland. There are 3 categories of membership:

If you join after 1 May, you will be charged pro-rata but will not be able to pay by direct debit

An Exclusion for all Membership Categories

Any dispute occurring prior to or existing at inception of the policy that the insured ought reasonably to have known would give rise to a claim or legal proceedings.

Disputes concerning damages for personal injuries or loss or damage to property.

Costs incurred by the insured prior to written consent being obtained from the Legal Protection Group.
